The Duplex Lever is a single brake lever that pulls on two brake cables simultaneously. Originally designed for bike polo players (to allow them to use both brakes while swinging a polo mallet with their free hand,) the duplex is also an excellent solution for adaptive cyclists.
The two barrel adjusters are located next to the handlebar, and allow you to fine-tune how the brakes engage when the lever is pulled. The cable tension is independent, so you can have one brake hit the rim before the other, or have them both kick in at the same time.
The Duplex is symmetrical and may be used as a left or right-handed brake lever by removing the pivot and flipping over the lever arm. The double pivot also allows works with either long or short-pull brakes, by placing the pivot pin in the inner or outer pivot hole.
To use the Duplex with long-pull brakes or other side-pulls or V-brakes, place the pivot in the outermost hole. To use it with short-pull brakes, and cantilever or caliper brakes, place the pivot in the inside hole.
A reach adjust screw can adjust how far the lever rests from the handlebar, putting it right where you want it.
