This week's wheel build of the week is another super versatile gravel set up that's equally at home on road or CX.

Astral's Wanderlust Carbon rim is originally designed as a lightweight adventure / gravel rim capable of running up to 2.5" tires. But given their rim profile (23mm internal, 29mm external) they can perform double (or triple) duty as a pure road rim or cyclo-cross race wheelset.

Weighing in at just 390g in 700c size (or 360g in 650b) this set is paired with the increasingly rare Chris King Two Tone colored R45 Disc hubs for a super stealth finish with gold accents.

Wanderlust Carbon Rim Specification:

  • 700c / 29 and 650b/27.5" Carbon Clincher
  • Weight: 700c: 390g; 650b: 360g
  • Depth: 21mm
  • Width: Int - 23mm / Ext - 29mm
