If there's a go-to rim brake road wheelset for us here at AVT, it's Chris King's R45 hubs laced to HED's Bulgium C2 rims. This wheelset ends up being respectably lightweight, is durable, tubeless-ready, and is designed to work great with 25-28mm tires, and looks great on just about any bike. We sell a lot of Chris King's custom R45 / HED Belgium Plus wheels, but even though the options are fairly broad, there are often cases where a fully-custom wheelset is what's needed.

In this case, a rider wanted a wheelset that was essentially identical to those built at Chris King, but which was built around one of our remaining stock of Matte Bourbon Chris King R45s. Of course we were happy to oblige😉
