25 years ago Paul Components offered skewers, and now they're back.  These 25th Anniversary Skewers feature stainless steel shafts that screw into oval orange 7075 aluminum heads.

The handles are stainless steel/aluminum for a nice balance of ergonomics and weight savings. The nuts have a matching orange o-ring and a thread friction element that keeps them in place once the wheels are removed.
