If you've been checking our blog for a while, you probably saw the previous Bling Build from South Africa's Calculus Bikes that we post a while back (you can see it here). We're really stoked on this latest one though because it's got some really cool things going on: flex stays make it a linkage-driven softail design, and the Cannondale Lefty Ocho fork with one of the very last of Chris King's Lefty hubs adds to the already sleek and unique look.
The use of the titanium softail design combined with the ability to tune the leverage curve because of the linkage driven shock should make for a really sweet cross-country bike, and it should also mean that the bike will remain quiet and smooth over the long haul.
The Lefty Ocho Fork sure does give a great view of the front wheel!
We've all found ourselves dreaming of building up an older mountain bike to ride around town, and maybe go play on the local trails, and this is a pretty sweet example of that kind of build.
When it comes to rims that are designed for rim brakes, not many are as technologically-advanced as Zipp's 303 Firecrest, and they've got the looks to back that up....
We've said it before, but why not just say it again: after decades of black wheels taking the top spot on the podium of desirability, it's just really cool to see more silver options that blend modern technology with classic looks. This wheelset blends classic looks with modern amenities.
