Paul Components designed their Boxcar Stem to be the perfect combination of stiffness, strength and reasonable weight. 


Available in +/- 0 in 35mm and 50mm. All bolts used in this stem are high strength stainless steel with the popular T25 head. The Boxcar stem is made in Chico, California using US sourced 2024 aircraft alloy. 

Paul designed the Boxcar Stem from the ground up to be stiff, strong and as light as they could be. They went through several design cycles to achieve the best combination of these three principles. Extensive real world and machine testing and proven this to be one strong stem! To handle flex and torsion, the rounded box shape is about 25% stiffer than the competition. Also, Paul strength tested the Boxcar Stem by running it through 1,000,000 cycles of above normal use stress without a single problem. 

The Paul Components Boxcar Stem comes in a zero rise.  Lengths are 35mm and 50mm. All bolts are the same pan head T25 Torx type in stainless steel. Paul specifically chose Torx bolts because they work so well and are the same wrench size as the rotor screws/bolts that all brake manufacturers currently use. Even SRAM has made the switch to T25 screw heads in almost all of their products. 

Paul's thoughtfulness of design created the Boxcar Stem by letting the function and material properties determine the shape of the product. Paul has come up with yet another one of their often complimented and purposeful designs. Sure it looks a little different, but with Paul there is always one good reason for this: to make it work as awesome as possible.
